Union Minister Of Agriculture & Farmers welfare visits ICAR-CIRB stall at CII Agro Tech 2016

Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare visited ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes, Hissar stall at Biennial Agro Technology & Business Fair – CII Agro Tech 2016 here today.Union Minister appreciated the efforts by ICAR-CIRB towards dissemination of farmer friendly technologies in simple manner. Canadian Agriculture Minister, Mr. Jeff Leal along with his Deputy Mr. Deb Stark also visited ICAR-CIRB stall and took keen interest in buffalo and Institute activities.

 

Dr Inderjeet Singh, Director ICAR-CIRB in his talk at the KisanGoshthee, spoke about the importance of buffalo husbandry as an indigenous livestock species to dairy farming and to substantiate income of farmers of all strata – starting from landless, marginal and small farmers to commercial enterprises. He appealed the farmers to make the best profits from this activity high potential germplasm application, improved reproduction, balanced nutrition and constant contact with research and developmental organizations to derive the maximum advantage from government policies

A large number of major global companies in agriculture took part in the exhibition. International farmers’ delegations from Australia, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Sri Lanka and Argentina visited the exhibitions.

Workshop on Scientific writing, e-Books and Publication Process

 

One day workshop on ‘Scientific writing, e-Books and Publication Process’ has been organised jointly by ICAR-CIRB, Hisar and ICAR-Directorate of Knowledge Management in Agriculture (DKMA), New Delhi on 16th November at CIRB, Hisar under the dynamic leadership of Director, Dr Inderjeet Singh. He emphasized on importance of   workshop that scientists can learn many new avenues of communication by developing the   skill of writing to deliver their results to the public in different forms. Dr Rameshwar Singh, Project Director, DKMA, New Delhi explained the various roles and activities of DMKA and encouraged the participants to use various portals of ICAR for effective

ICAR-CIRB celebrates first birthday of cloned calf, Hisar-Gaurav

 

ICAR -Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes has trumpeted its credentials as India’s second center to produce cloned buffalo calf, Hisar Gaurav on 11 December 2015. Institute celebrates the first birth anniversary of a calf on 11.12.2016.

 

Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Director, said that this success not only brings Institute in limelight but also strengthens our future research direction in the field of animal cloning and we are heading towards the production of more clones from superior animals in coming days.

 

Team leader, Dr. Yadav informed that  at  the age one  year  it  has  a  body  weight of  270 kg. We  have  regularly  recorded its  growth rate, respiration and pulse rate,  studied blood hematology and  biochemistry  profile and chromosomal karyotype. We  also  conducted  various  contagious  disease  and  parasitic  infestation tests at fixed intervals. Its physiological  indices, blood  hematology and biochemistry  profile  are  within normal range. It has also been tested for mandatory contagious disease for breeding bulls and found without any such diseases. It has started to show mounting behavior and expected to start donating semen at 18 months of age. Semen of cloned bull will be thoroughly evaluated for various parameters and compared with its somatic cell donor bull

ICAR-CIRB organized World Food Day and Swachhta Campaign in village Sarsod and Karkhadi

CIRB organized World Food Day 2016 on theme “Climate is changing. Food and Agriculture must too” in two government Senior Secondary schools of village Sarsod and Karkhadi, Hisar. The Swachhta Pakhwada was also launched at village level under Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav programme of ICAR. About 250 children from 10th to 12th were sensitized by the scientists about the causes, harmful effects of climate change on livestock, agriculture, health, environment etc and also the simple strategies / measures to combat it. Massive awareness was also created on sanitation, cleanliness in schools, home, streets etc to make a habit of hygiene among the students. A quiz competition on swachhta,
